About the Artist

   Roe Murray graduated from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pa with an art education degree. She took graduate courses at Tyler School of Art, and Arcadia University. She then  went on to get an Early Childhood certificate from Immaculata University.

  She continued taking workshops with other artists and various affiliations. 

    She taught for decades in public and private schools ,the Delaware Art Museum,The Wayne Art Center, Main Line Art Center, Chester County Art Association, Art Partners,and privately from her home.

Her affiliations are signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society,signature  member of The Philadelphia Pastel Society, and a member of  The Delaware Valley Art League.

ARTIST STATEMENT

   I have painted in many mediums. I now work mostly in pastels over a water color underpainting. My favorite subject matter is landscapes.I choose  to paint nature.Nature allows me to work loosely and to take liberties without being precise. Nature is never boring.

 Landsapes that include water and or flowers  are  really enjoyable to me. I like to paint scenes that other people may not take the time to notice, and its my way to bring alittle peace to the world.

   I would consider my style to be impressionism/contemporary realism.
